Second Life
Second Life provides a 3D visualisation tool that enables users to cheaply immerse themselves in a 3D realistic environment, and to interact in real time with other users.
Many well know companies are starting to do business in Second Life, including IBM, Reuters, River Run Red (the company behind the X-men graphics) and Adidas. Live events have been held over the past year, ranging from a Radio 1 Roadshow to a BBC Newsnight hosted by a Second Life Jeremy Paxman and Paul Mason.
Complicity plan to use the technology to build 3D representations of real life places from the present, future and the past, giving users better understanding of those environments. In order to gain experience of doing business in Second Life, Complicity undertook a project to learn the problems and limitations of the technology. This first project is a game called Bounty Bay. This is a virtual world that has been created in the style of a treasure island, giving players the chance to find treasure worth L$1million by roaming the island. Bounty Bay also is home to Complicity's in-life office where Second Life clients can meet the team.
If you would like to discuss future Second Life possibilities with Complicity, please email us or visit us at Bounty Bay.
